Documenting one's pregnancy has become something that is almost second-nature for many moms. Not only can one do a series of belly casts, or just one, but maternity photography has become more popular over the years. A photographer who can capture the essence of the family is important. When choosing a photographer, interview him or her first in order to make sure that you are truly comfortable in his or her presence. A photographer who makes you nervous will never be able to capture a natural emotion besides uncomfort. The above photograph was taken of a client, her fiance and her son. When looking for sample pictures of "families" in many maternity photographers sites, it can be difficult to find significantly older children. Many of them showcase toddler/preschoolers as the sibling. This young man is eleven. The classic hands-on-the-belly shot can still be done with an older siblings hands and still look beautiful.
Maternity photographs can be done as a part of a doula package. Please contact me to find out more.
