The Start

I'm a doula!  What is a doula?  A doula is a labor assistant for those birthing babies.  The Merriam-Webster's Medical Dictionary states a doula is "a woman experienced in childbirth who provides advice, information, emotional support, and physical comfort to a mother before, during, and just after childbirth". 

I have birthed 3 children of my own.  Three beautiful boys.  It is from my experiences that this desire to become a doula was birthed. 

I attended the toLabor doula training.  I would encourage every woman to attend this training, whether she wants to be a doula or not.  It was such an eye-opening and beautiful experience to learn what a woman's body is capable of. 

Every woman should have the birth they want.
